Luke's Trip Report...

Things to remember; the crossing into Wales is £4.50 for a car and £9.00 in a van :o(((

Also some of their rules include no diving below 30m without a torch, not diving below 30m without some kind of additional air source, and no diving deeper than 50m on air :op

I think the torch one was a bit on the pessimistic side; clear down at 50 and no need for a torch at all esp. with that lovely 20m viz, viz does go downhill though as you come onto the 20m ledge apparently.

Oh and no diving on home made rebreathers (there was one person who they stopped just before he got in).

But feel free to use the shot line in 75m which is specifically there for freedivers; no deco station.

The 50m line has a deco station at 5m and the 80m line has deco stations at 3, 6 and 9m.

As for the on site facilities they seem really well done, the burgers come highly recommended :o) and the shuttle service to the waters edge is amazing. They also have several nice touches such as a plentiful supply of trolleys and a heaped pile of mats that you can put behind your car for kitting up (also doubles as a window screen protector for when the helicopter lands on the dust / gravel car park).

The turn around for fills was good too, but it was quite quick I guess.

I can see great potential here for advanced training, but it'll be limited for novice stuff and there's not much to look at, I did hear a rumour that someone saw a fish, although the birds make an amusing site on the water's edge, very friendly with each other at the moment...

On the whole a good site and let's hope it gets a bit better with toys cuz at the moment, other than the depth it's a bit boring.
